rhomeDOG is a Dallas, Texas community brand: markets, events, a journal, a member list, and a shop. This page explains what we collect when you use rhomedog.com, why we collect it, who else touches it, and what you can do about it. We wrote it ourselves, in plain language, because you should actually be able to read it.
The short version
- We collect what you give us: email, name, phone, profile details, and shop orders.
- We use it to run rhomeDOG: events, the newsletter, your account, and the shop.
- We never sell your information. We never rent our list.
- We share it only with the services that run the site (hosting, email, payments).
- You can ask us to show you, fix, or delete what we have on you at any time.
What we collect
Email signups.When you leave your email anywhere on the site, we store the address, the page you signed up from, and the time. That's it.
Events and RSVPs. When you RSVP, we store your name, email, phone if you give it, party size, and the event. If an event is full, we keep your spot on the waitlist the same way.
Member accounts.If you make an account, we store your email and anything you add to your tag: a handle, display name, city, bio, avatar, and social links. You choose what goes on the tag. We also keep your notification preferences and the events you've attended. If you invite a friend, we keep their email and note when they join.
Seller applications.When you apply to sell, we store what you tell us: name, email, Instagram, what you sell, roughly how much inventory you have, and a link to photos of it. We keep applications so we can reach back out when there's a fit.
Sellers and the shop.If you're approved to sell through our shop, you set up payouts directly with Stripe. Stripe collects your identity and bank details; we never see or store them. We store your Stripe account ID, the pieces you list (photos, descriptions, prices), and what sells.
Buying something.When you buy from the shop, Stripe handles your card. We don't see or store card numbers. We store your name, email, shipping address, and what you bought, and we pass your shipping address to the seller so they can ship it.
Text messages. If you give us your number and opt in, we may text you about events. Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.
Site visits.We count page visits so we know which pages people actually look at. We don't use advertising trackers or sell browsing data to anyone.
Why we use it
- To tell you about events, drops, and news you asked to hear about.
- To run RSVPs, waitlists, and check-in at events.
- To keep your account working and let you manage your tag and preferences.
- To review seller applications and run the seller program.
- To process shop orders, pay sellers, and sort out shipping, refunds, and disputes.
- To understand what parts of the site people use, so we can make it better.
Who else sees it
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with companies that help us run rhomeDOG, and only what they need:
- Supabase stores our database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Resend sends our email.
- Twilio sends our text messages.
- Stripe processes payments and seller payouts.
- Formspree delivers messages sent through the contact form.
If you buy a piece from a seller, that seller receives your name and shipping address so they can ship it. Sellers agree to use it only for that purpose. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect rhomeDOG, our members, or our sellers from fraud or harm.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels. Blocking cookies won't break browsing the site, but it will keep you from staying signed in.
How long we keep it
As long as you have a relationship with rhomeDOG: while you're on the list, have an account, or are a seller. Order records stay as long as we need them for taxes, refunds, and disputes. When you ask us to delete your information, we remove it except what we're required to keep.
Your choices
- Reply to any email or write to us and we'll take you off the list. Every text can be stopped with STOP.
- Members can change notification preferences and their tag from the account page.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete what we have on you. Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
Kids
rhomeDOG is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
Security
Our database is locked so that only our own server can read it. Payments and bank details live with Stripe, never with us. No system is perfect, and if we ever have a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, if it's a big change, email the list.
